Well, we have been doing school most days, but just recently ds has been involved in a church movie project so all his time has been getting that ready. Youngest dd doesn't always want to do work sheets so I've been trying to let her run around doing math and other school stuff. But I still have her do worksheets a bit since it's something she still needs to know how to do.
N is doing ok, but hates when I interfere with her school schedule. I told her today that I need to know what's up, but she really doesn't like me to know. Going to be an interesting time until she relents.

Frustration
I haven't been posting lately simply because my youngest and oldest children have decided they are going to be difficult. My youngest has had her 8th bday that she has been excited about since she turned 7. In our faith that means she gets to be baptized AND her first friend bday party. It has been chaos for over 8 days. This also includes a family field trip to a museum an hr away on dh bday 5 days after dd. So we've been doing lots of celebrating.
Then we had a field trip with our homeschool group and that was fun. The next day we dd's bday party with 18/ 5-10 yr kids(mostly girls) at our local gymnastics place.
So now that things are over with, I was hoping for a bit of calmness. Unfortunately, dd has decided she still doesn't want to settle. Not surprising, it just means that I'm going to have to relax and be patient with her.
And ds has been doing some "projects" in the month of Sept and Oct. Now that he's done I want some serious school work out of him. He's resisting which is driving me nuts. All I ask is for 4 to 5 subjects a day. He is graduated from hs, but he still has some studies to finish. So basically I'm stressed out because those two just have been resistant to me. ARGH!!

I need to change my ways
I think, instead of daily recordings, I need to stick to weekly ones. I'm just not always in the mood each day to post.
This past week has been very stressful, but for a good reason. Now you probably say, stress is good?! Well, the stress I'm talking about is because Sat Nov 5th my youngest child turns 8 and will be baptized ON her bday. So school work this week has almost been non existent for her. Thankfully big brother has stepped up and has helped to teach her with math. So math has been done along with night time reading. Thankfully she has an art and gym class as well as a science class during the week so those have been done. So I guess she's been doing ok.
My oldest, even though he's graduated, is still being required to do some basic studies until he leaves for his mission next spring. We've also been trying to encourage him to find a job. He's had a few temp ones here and there. One that lasted 4 weeks (3 days a week for 3 hrs) helping a gentleman with old paper work. He just recently applied for a job at our local library. With lots of older people looking as well, I'm trying not to be too hopeful. It would be nice if he got it, but who knows.
Oldest dd is faithfully doing her school work. She LOVES routine and is excited each day when I praise her. She doesn't always get stuff, especially math, but we've reached a great milestone this week. She's starting to really remember her times tables and that's BIG! I'm very proud of how well she is doing. She also loves researching minor things just because. I'm just amazed how her. She has also recently really had the desire to help out with household chores. Now keep in mind this is my 15yr who really shouldn't want to help but does. I had to take youngest dd to her science class yesterday, but also had many loads of laundry to do. I had started one load, and when we came back several hrs later she was just finishing. GREAT JOB SWEETIE!
So today dh has the day off. We're going to be doing some pre-birthday celebrating and preparing. Sam's club to pick up the cake and other food items for after her baptism. Dh hair cut, then a movie in the afternoon. Dinner at dd's choosing, then home to prepare for the big day!
So that's been our week and the busy weekend to come. :)

I've been bad
I haven't been really good about updating as I should. My youngest hasn't always wanted to do her school work and ds was busy with some video projects(finally finished) so school has been a struggle. Thank goodness next week will be back to normal school. Finally!!

The week of Oct 3rd
Monday we just went to the library to get our pick of books and DVDs for school. Came home and had lunch. Then ds went to his job. The girls and I just cleaned up and goofed around.
Tues did school in the morning. Then by 12 we were at art and gym for the girls. After art and gym we dropped off some kids we were watching.
Wed we did school at home. The older two did great. 7yr wasn't too keen on getting stuff done. She eventually managed to finish around 12:30.
Tomorrow is our weekly science class. Youngest dd really likes this class. I'm glad because they can do science projects and my house stays clean. :)

I've decided to date most of my posts, rather than always trying to come up with something catchy.
So today my 7yr has decided that she'd rather do her school work next to mom. Ok fine. As long as she's not laying all over me. She did ok, but got bored very quickly. I then let her do some times table on the white board. Funny girl was laying all over the couch while writing her facts down. What a monkey. :) The rest of the morning she spent watching a science website and then helped created her new calendar. It was help her know what the date and day are as well as the month. I also picked up a weather window clingons. She liked those. Hopefully she'll do better next week.
The older two did well. They usually do. They liked routine, 7yr does not. Should prove to be an interesting year.

Thursday, September 8th, 2011
Today started out as an ok day, then 7yr didn't want to sit and do her math sheet. Just one sheet. I told her she could have some fun math after her worksheet. 45 min later it was finally done, and it's only day 2 of sit down stuff.
Then I had her do some grammar and a math game online. She did well. Oldest 15 dd did her math, grammar and science before lunch. She usually does a good job. Then I had to take 7yr to her science class at a local homeschooling mom's home. She had a great time doing science experiments.
That was it for the day. Hoping Fri will be better.
